African Diaspora Association of Canada (ADAC)
Our Mission:
To provide a forum for Canadians of African descent to build a network of action-oriented individuals and groups in support of our communities in Africa and Canada.
Our Mandate:
To foster value-adding contributions to Canadian society, and to form sustainable partnerships that directly benefit deserving African communities in Africa and Canada.
Our Core Goals:
- Establish a national umbrella organization, with regional representation of the African Diaspora in Canada, including alliances with not-for-profit developmental organizations that support economic, educational, health, social and cultural programs among African communities in Africa and Canada.
- Mobilize African-descendant communities in Canada to create and support a multi-faceted Diaspora program that provides effective, economic, social and political empowerment, inclusive of youth and women.
- Represent, develop and promote mutually beneficial relations with Canada through dialog, and to work collaboratively with policy makers to improve the well-being of members of the African Diaspora by channeling resources within the framework of development aid to diverse communities of the African Diaspora for the benefit of Africa.
- Promote poverty reduction. human rights, gender equality, peace and social justice in Africa within the framework of "ADAC"s objectives.
